What is Om Healing
OM healing is an ancient ritual from India aimed at harnessing the power of the audible OM chant for the purposes of healing on all levels of being. This healing works for the benefit of those in the group and it is thought to have a positive radiating effect on the community, and possibly the world.
Understanding the Om vibration
Om is said to be the primordial sound of the universe. In this group experience as participants breathe in deeply and then exhale the Om sound (A-U-M) in unison. This sound and vibration generates a connection to the original source of creation. As the Om is exhaled the sound reverberates from the pelvic floor upward through the crown of the head, filling the body with pulsating energy that simultaneously empowers and radiates tranquility.
OM Chanting Healing Circle is a group practice that uses the transformational power of ‘om’ to activate the self-healing potential of participants. OM Chanting also brings people together in service of others. Like a prayer, the positive vibrations of om can be offered to support those in need. People who participate in group OM chanting circles say that it promotes inner peace, mental clarity, emotional freedom, and physical health. Many participants experience positive shifts and enhanced wellbeing. It may also generate a vibrational frequency that helps to release negativity, transforming it into positive energy. In a group setting everyone receives these benefits.
Radiating Wellness
It is believed that the vibrational waves created by the OM Chanting practice can spread out over more than a mile radius, helping to creating a harmonious, peaceful environment and a unity between both humans and nature. Even when the circle has concluded the practice, it has the effect of continuing to resonate in participants’ bodies, allowing them to share the good vibrations wherever they go.
The chant session is followed by a period of silent meditation for 30 minutes, but this is optional and those who wish will be able to leave after the chanting.
